Funded by the Department of Housing and urban Development, The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is a federally funded grant assistance program, administered at the state level by the Kentucky Governor's Office for Local Development. The purpose of the CDBG program is to provide funding to cities and counties for community development projects. The funds can be used for activities related to housing, infrastructure, economic development, and other community projects. CDBG funds have been used in the LCADD for such things as construction of senior centers, water and sewer plants, water and sewer line development, housing rehabilitatin, and economic development projects.
Staff are readily availbale to meet with communities interested in participating in the CDBG program. Particularly, to explain program relations; discuss application filing procedures and requirements; assist in preparing CDBG applicatins, including project planning and design; assist in the completion of citizen participatin, environmental requirements, project cost estimates; and other necessary and appropriate activities.
