The Lake Cumberland Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living is designated by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the State Department of Aging and Independent Living to develop and administer an Area Plan on Aging. The LCADD/AAAIL identifies the needs of seniors and plans for meeting those needs through a system of in-home and community-based services that enable seniors to maintain their independence and quality of life. The AAAIL advocates on behalf of all older persons within the service area. The service area includes Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, McCreary, Pulaski, Russell, Taylor and Wayne Counties.

The AAAIL is administered by the Lake Cumberland Area Development District, advised by the Lake Cumberland Advisory Council on Aging and is operated under the LCADD Board of Directors. The LCADD ensures that the goals of the AAAIL are met through the services described in this brochure for the senior population in the LCADD’s ten counties.
